Newborn Session Guide
To-do list for the day of the session:
I encourage clients to read our guide on what to expect during our newborn session to ensure we achieve the best possible results. This section will outline essential tasks that parents should complete on the day of the session.
It is crucial to ensure that your baby stays awake for 1-2 hours before their session in the morning. This will ensure that they are fully asleep during the session. To keep your baby awake, we suggest dressing them in lighter clothing, as the cooler air may help keep them awake. It's crucial to do this because it makes transitioning between poses much smoother.
It's best to dress the baby in a simple pajamas to allow for easy diaper changes without disturbing their sleep.
It's important to ensure that the baby is fed 2-3 hours prior to their session. Additionally, it's crucial to burp the baby after their feeding to reduce fussiness and gas.
We kindly request that our clients arrive on time and suggest feeding babies upon arrival at the studio. If assistance is needed with feeding, we are happy to help. For mothers who bottle feed, please remember to bring 3-4 additional servings of formula and water. If you are a breastfeeding mom, it would be helpful to prepare for the session by having the ability to feed your baby. You are encouraged to bring any necessary breast pumps and can pump while waiting.
When taking photos of parents, we focus on the waist up. You don't need to bring any special shoes, but we recommend wearing comfortable clothes while waiting for the session as our studio is kept warm.
